Not all of my work makes it up to a polished standard, and I can happily fill up sketchbooks with practises and experiments one after the other. I love the loose stage of sketching, it is when I find the personality of my Original Characters and stories shine through the most. Until recently, I was very reluctant to allow anyone to look in my sketchbooks. They have always been so personal and private and the fact none of It was finished didn't help, but as I've got older people seem to enjoy the behind-the-scenes feel of peeking inside at raw artwork. While my sketchbooks remain mostly a place to make mistakes in private, and draw obscenities over the things that don't work out, they are also the anvil of creation for thrashing out character designs, narratives and concepts. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
